Episcopals splitting in U.S.

This story from the AP details a call from conservatives in the U.S. and Canada to form their own group, to be called the Anglican Church in North America.

This short piece contains a thumbnail sketch of some of the issues that are influencing the split. But this longer piece from the Christian Science Monitor includes quotations from bishops worldwide concerning the need for the split and comments from Episcopal leadership about whether the diocese will leave with the Bishop.

But I found this piece from the BBC the best at explaining the changes in a way that lay persons could understand.
