Controversial Islam book picked up by Danish publisher

According to This article in The Guardian, Danish publisher Trykkefrihedsselskabets Library (Free Speech Library) is seeking the rights to publish the controversial book Jewel of Medina, by western author Sherry Jones.

The book, which tells a fictional version of the story of Muhammad's favorite wife, Aisha, was scheduled for publication by Random House, which cancelled the publication after being warned that the book would be insulting to Muslims and might incite terroristic incidents.

The book has been published in non-US countries.

The publication in Denmark is evocative of the protests over newspapers in the nation's choice to publish cartoons with images of Muhammed.
