Interesting question about Al Sharpton

The Rev. Al Sharpton has been in the news with his woes due to alleged tax evasion. This article on the Dallas Morning News blog asks, what enables Sharpton to take the title Reverend, and cites a Wikipedia article stating that Sharpton was ordained at "9 or 10" in a pentecostal church, but that he later changed to baptist.

A PBS biography from his presidential campaign states that he was ordained as a Baptist preacher at the age of 10.
