Insults to Muhammad, as seen in the press

British teacher Gillian Gibbons was arrested and is jailed in Sudan for insulting Islam by allowing her 7-year-old students to name a stuffed teddy bear Muhammed, according to several news sources.

The NY Daily News, in an independently reported article called the charge blasphemy and quoted only British sources.

The International Herald-Tribune, also reporting calls the charge blasphemy and quoted Sudanese officials. The IHT story also mentions Sudan's rejection of Scandanavian peacekeepers because of the Danish publication of an image of Muhammed in a cartoon.

Finally, the web site Africa Today , aggregating other media also calls "Insulting" Islam and uses sources from the BBC as well as from the school.
