Texas curriculum vote gets attention

The State Board of Education for Texas voted yesterday to remove language requiring public school teachers to discuss the weaknesses of evolution in academic presentations on selection.

The vote, which will set state education standards for the next 10 years, was quite close and garnered a lot of media attention in the state. Both sides are claiming victory, as can be seen in here and in the commentshere.
