Kentucky officials arrest snake-handling pastor

Keeping that "bizarreness' news value front and center is this piece on the arrest of a pastor for buying, selling and possessing illegal reptiles. An undercover operation led to the arrest of 10 and the confiscation of 100 animals.

The article mentions the prevalence of snake handling and the reasons for it, as well as that snake handling is illegal in most states, including Kentucky. It would be nice to understand more about what the laws say and the rationale for them. Also, the pastor was charged with selling reptiles. There was no detail about this, either.
