Mourners, commenters seek comfort of religion in dealing with NIU shootings

The coverage of the tragic shootings has featured references to religion frequently, especially the Sunday stories that featured descriptions of church services.

President George Bush asked Americans to "offer blessings" for the victims and their families, a comment that merited its own AP story.

Read today's AP story, along with a slide show featuring crosses on the campus at the Washington Post's web site.

Also, one of the dead was on the staff of the NIU student newspaper as an advertising sales rep.
