Wondering about the religiosity of your favorite (or least favorite) candidates?
Beliefnet's God-o-Meter may give you a clue.
Candidates are given an on-going ranking on factors like discussing faith on the campaign trail, quoting from the Bible and buying ads in religious publications.
The rankings themselves are interesting, and backed up by news briefs, but perhaps more interesting is the meter's value as an instructional prompt. Ask students if the ranking system (explained on the site) is fair and complete. Is it accurate? Is religiosity, as portrayed in the media, going to make a difference with voters?
