Pope says Catholic politicians must uphold church teachings

Reuters is reporting that Pope Benedict XVI said the church's opposition to gay marriage and abortion is non-negotiable and must be upheld by politicians.
In the "Apostolic Exhortation," a 140-page booklet, Benedict says believers had to defend what he terms fundamental values. The duty is "especially incumbent" on political leaders.
